Dehumidifiers remove water vapor from the air to keep a room dry. In humid climates, they can improve your comfort in your home, help prevent the growth of mold and mildew, and protect books, pianos, wallpaper and other delicate items from moisture damage. The specific operating instructions for humidifiers vary by brand and model, so read the owner's manual to determine exactly how to set your machine. Most models are designed to be user-friendly, featuring a control panel with a dial to turn or buttons to press.
- Plug the dehumidifier into a grounded wall socket. On models that do not automatically turn on when you plug them in, press the 'On' or 'Power' button on the control panel.
- Locate a dial or a set of buttons labeled 'Dryness Setting,' 'Humidity Level' or something similar. Turn the dial to the right to increase the dryness and to the left to increase the humidity; press the 'Humidity Level' button repeatedly until the display indicates that the machine is set to your desired humidity. Remember that higher values mean higher humidity, not more power from the machine.
- Look for a button labeled 'Power Level,' 'Fan Speed' or something similar. Press the button repeatedly to cycle through the power options, from lower power to higher power. Select your desired power level. A higher level dehumidifies the room faster but is louder and uses more energy.
- Press the 'Time' or 'Timer' button repeatedly to preset a time of day for the dehumidifier to turn on, if your model has such a function. The timer cycles through the hours of the day as you push the button. Look in your owner's manual for additional details on setting the timer.
Tip
The Energy Star website recommends setting your dehumidifier to 30 percent to 50 percent humidity in warm weather and 30 percent to 40 percent humidity when you are running your heater. Hang a humidity measuring device, called a hygrometer, near the dehumidifier if the dehumidifier does not measure the humidity in the room.
Warning
Never use an ungrounded outlet for a dehumidifier. Follow all the safety instructions in the manual precisely. As electrical appliances that process water, dehumidifiers pose a risk of electric shock and fire when used incorrectly.

FAQ
Is collection in person available on any of your items?
Yes sure collections are preferred. We now only accept cash if you are collecting an item, we don't accept PayPal or any other form of payment on collections. There is also a one-off £2 per visit admin fee applicable for collections.
I have ordered an item by mistake but am yet to pay, can you cancel the order?
When you commit to buy an item, ebay take a percentage of the bid from our account, if you then decide not to purchase the item it means the sale must be cancelled and a mutual no-sale aggreement procedure has to be implemented to recover our cost, this will incur a staff administration fee of £2 per cancelled item but no ebay strike will be issued
I have bought and received an item but no longer want, can I return it?
Yes you may return it for a refund, as long as the item is returned in the exact same condition it left us in and within the time stated in our returns policy. The refund for the order would then be minus the outgoing postage costs, return costs are your responsibility. If the item was sold with 'freepost' and is being returned in error, then the outgoing postage cost will be deducted from the refund
Can you offer a discount on the shipping if I buy more than 1 item?
We are happy to combine the shipping on a multiple order, but to do so we must be informed before payment has been sent, once payment has been made the invoice becomes irreversible.
Can you discount the item price if I buy more than one item?
From time to time we do have offers available on orders over a certain quantity, these offers will be visible on our listings that apply for the discount.
My model number isn't listed on the adverts 'compatibility list', will it be compatible?
Unfortunately if it's not listed in the advert then we couldn't say either way whether your model is compatible or not, we'd advise searching your model online to find compatibility or contacting the manufacturer.
I'm having trouble installing the item, can you help?
Yes sure please see our technical support section for assistance, if you're still having difficulties then please contact us via the eBay messages where we will be happy to assist you further.
Can I change the delivery address for my order?
Yes sure as long as we haven't already 'dispatched' the item. Please message us through the contact us link or call on 01923 677776 to advise of the new delivery address. If the item has already been dispatched then the delivery address cannot be amended.
I haven't received my order yet, where is it?
If the items 'estimated delivery' dates have been surpassed then please contact us and we can chase up the order. If the item was sent via tracked delivery then you can search the tracking number on the couriers website to see where the item is. During peak periods there may be a delay with delivery when the courier is exceptionally busy (i.e Christmas). Extreme weather may also have adverse affects on delivery times
The item has not been delivered but the tracking information states the courier has tried twice and had no reply, but has left no calling card, how do I know they are not lying?
We only use large national couriers, they have only become so big by giving a professional service and to get into a dispute about who is lying is usually pointless, the best thing to do is to contact the local depot as soon as possible and collect the item, this must be done promptly or the courier will ship it back to us at extra cost
Do I have to pay the postage cost if I collect the item(s)?
No, though we do have a service charge of £2 per visit to compensate for the cost of having staff onsite to serve you, it does not matter how many items you purchase, you only pay a one off fee, and if the item is sold on a collect only basis the service charge will be waived
When can I expect my order to arrive?
We will send you an item shipped notification via email on the day the item(s) is handed to the courier, if this a Monday your item will arrive on Tuesday, if you receive the notification on Friday the item will arrive on Monday as the couriers do not deliver over the weekend.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, but only on selected items, for details please see the shipping option in the advert.
Do you have more detailed information on this item?
As we sell so cheaply we cannot get into intensive research on any specific item, most information is just a few clicks away online, plus you can research to your personal specific requirements
Will you stop the auction for me?
Out of fairness to all eBayers we will not stop any auction unless it has been damaged or listed in error.
What days are you open for collection?
We are open from Monday to Friday between 10am until 4pm and Saturdays between 10am-1PM. We do not open on Sundays or bank holidays. We are closed on weekdays between 1-2pm for lunch.
Is there a manual/original box/accessories etc with the item?
Only if stated or shown in the picture, as for manuals, most information can be found on the usual web based search engines
What is the latest order time for same day dispatch?
Cleared Payment must be received before 2pm weekdays to ensure same day dispatch.
